Article on software development techniques to be presented in AES Rome
We'll be presenting our most recent paper — Software Techniques for Good Practice in Audio and Music Research — at the 134th International Audio Engineering Society Convention which takes place in Rome, May 4-7.
This article focuses on software techniques such as unit testing and code reviews that, although widely accepted as best practice in the industry, are often overlooked in research environments. In this paper we review some of the literature that supports the effectiveness of such techniques and give some advice on how these can successfully be applied to research groups.
This article will be presented as a poster on the afternoon of Sunday, May 5, on the Perception and Education session.
The paper is also available on our website so, if you are curious about the topic, please read it and tell us what you think! If you are also going to AES, it would be great to meet you and discuss it with you!
